What is a Good Faith Estimate, and do I receive one?
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected costs of your medical and mental health care. Under federal law, healthcare providers are required to provide this estimate to clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use insurance for services.
This estimate gives you an overview of the anticipated charges for non-emergency services, including psychotherapy. You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time, and I will provide one upon request or at the time of scheduling services, in accordance with this law.
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above the amount listed in your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges. It is a good idea to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
